[WorldUrbanLegend] The Children with Black Eyes
The Children with Black Eyes
In 2007, Texas. It was a night like any other, with the pale moonlight faintly illuminating the road. Michael felt an ominous presence when he first saw the little girl standing by the side of the road. She had a strangely mature expression for her young age as she gazed at him. Her dark hair hung loosely, and her eyes… her eyes were strange.
"Excuse me, could you let me inside your house?" the girl asked in a cold voice.
Michael stared at her for a moment, unsure. How could such a young child be out here alone at this time of night? Still, an unsettling feeling lingered. The girl's eyes, to be exact, held one peculiar feature. There was no white in her eyes—just dark, black pupils that seemed to consume everything in their gaze. It was as if they held an overwhelming power that could swallow him whole.
"Sorry, but… it's late," Michael stammered, his voice faltering. Something felt off, and he couldn't shake the feeling. Just as he tried to dismiss the thought, the girl’s expression shifted. Her eyes grew sharper, and a cold chill ran down his spine.
"Please open the door," she said, her voice now tinged with urgency. "I have to get inside."
For a moment, Michael couldn't speak. His body froze, and it felt as though the very air around him had turned cold. The girl’s face grew closer, and her gaze pierced through him. Silence hung in the air. Then, without warning, she stepped back, her form becoming shadow-like as she retreated into the dark.
"If you don’t open the door, you may regret it…" the girl whispered as she faded into the night, her black eyes lingering in his memory.
This incident marked the beginning of the "Children with Black Eyes" legend. What Michael experienced was just the start. Sightings of similar children were soon reported throughout Mexico and various states in the U.S. The phenomenon spread, and the children were spotted in other parts of the world, including Europe, Asia, and even Africa. These children, whether boys or girls, carried an eerie and unsettling presence, and they never seemed to stop searching for new places to enter.
In every country, the children were seen wandering the streets at night, sometimes knocking on doors or trying to get into cars. The one thing they had in common? They had no whites in their eyes—just pitch-black pupils that seemed to draw everything in. But no one could ever explain who or what they were.
In North America and Europe, some speculated that these children were aliens, vampires, or demons. Others believed they could be time travelers, or beings from another dimension. But in Asia, especially in countries like Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand, people interpreted them as ghosts or spirits—souls of the dead that had somehow returned in the form of these strange children.
In Hong Kong, there were stories of children with black eyes wandering through neighborhoods, especially around apartment complexes. The local police even launched an investigation but found no leads. Similar sightings were reported in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and other parts of Southeast Asia.
Some believed the children were interdimensional beings or entities from another timeline. It was as if they existed outside of the normal flow of time, slipping in and out of reality, seeking something—or someone—in the shadows of the night.
Whatever they were, no one truly knew. All that was left behind was the eerie feeling of having crossed paths with something beyond explanation. And, as the night stretched on, somewhere, another child with black eyes was probably wandering, waiting for the next door to open.
